Austin Forum Slack

The Austin Forum on Technology & Society creates community that connects people to ideas and to other Austinites through our monthly events. We have held over 150 events attracting almost 30,000 attendees over the years, and our goal is always to facilitate more connection—to foster more discussion, more information sharing, more opportunities to collaborate and contribute—before and after events, as well.

Code of Conduct

Since we are building a community of connections to foster collaborations and help people contribute to society through technology, we ask that everyone use Slack in that spirit. Be informative, discuss, and even debate—but within the scope of the Austin Forum mission and objectives.

We ask that everyone follow these three simple rules:

  1. No hurtful or hateful language. Discussion is the purpose, so debate is welcome, but professional and respectful discussion is expected, as this is how we build community.

  2. No trolling or other generally abusive, non-constructive content will be allowed.

  3. No marketing of products or services. Mentioning them as solutions is fine, but advertising is not. We are a 501c3 nonprofit and must protect that status.
