Technology in Higher Education

Dr. Kathy Schmidt and Juan Garcia from the University of Texas Faculty Innovation Center (FIC). Based in the Cockrell School of Engineering, the FICıs mission is to provide faculty with effective instructional tools and strategies.

Dr. Schmidt and Mr. Garcia will discuss how new technology is being integrated and utilized both inside and outside the classroom to benefit student learning techniques. The discussion will include a diverse overview of modern educational tech tools and focus on how products like tablet PCs, podcasts, and web-based software are helping shape higher education.

The Research Office Complex (ROC) is located in the southwest corner of Burnet Road and Braker Lane (immediately adjacent to BEG) on the University of Texas J. J. Pickle Research Campus.

The forum will meet in seminar room 1.603 at the Research Office Complex where the Texas Advanced Computing Center is now located.
